Where’s the beef? On the dinner table! Meat sales in U.S. grocery stores rose by more than 19% from 2019 to 2020, reaching a total of $82.5 billion, according to IRI data in the 2021 Power of Meat report.
Nearly all American households (98.4%) purchased meat in 2020. Research shows that confidence in cooking meat at home increased during COVID-19 outbreak last year, which likely means that meat sales in grocery stores will remain strong even after the pandemic is over.
