Frozen food sales soared during the pandemic, as fewer people ate meals outside the home. Surprisingly, this category is showing no signs of slowing down.
Why? Consumers tried — and liked — a large number of meal options and other foods they found in the freezer case and tried during the height of the COVID-19 outbreak. Nearly one-third of Americans expanded their freezer capacity by adding a second fridge/freezer combination or a stand-alone freezer last year, and they are keeping it stocked.
